Title:
Ben Crenshaw and Scotty Sayers Collection

Two-time Masters winner, Ben Crenshaw, a local Austinite, attended UT at the same time as Tom Kite.  Like his rival and friend, Crenshaw joined the pro ranks and quickly established himself a competitor of great skill.  Crenshaw’s emotional second win at Augusta, coming just days after the funeral of his mentor and close friend, Harvey Penick, is one of those moments that golf fans always remember.  Of late, Crenshaw, with his partner Bill Coore, has become one of the world’s preeminent golf course designers.  In addition, Crenshaw is well-respected as a knowledgeable amateur historian of the game.

Scotty Sayers has been Crenshaw’s agent/business manager since 1985.  Scotty expanded those duties to include Crenshaw and Coore’s golf course designing business.  He is a UT graduate with deep roots in Austin.

The Crenshaw and Sayers Collection includes photographs, documents and memorabilia items and features the captain’s golf cart from Crenshaw’s successful Ryder Cup 1999.
